If you are having sex, you are at risk for contracting a sexually transmitted disease. An estimated 12 million new sexually transmitted infections occur every year; two-thirds are women and men under 25.

Gonorrhea
Over 1,100,000 new cases annually

Syphilis
Over 120,000 new cases annually

Herpes II
Between 200,000 and 500,000 new cases annually

HPV (Human Papillomavirus/Genital Warts)
Over 500,000 new cases annually

PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease)
Over 1,000,000 new cases annually
